Turkish Documents That Require an ID Photo

Choose by the document your photo is for: the photo size and its place on the card differ from one document to the next.

Every document image is a SPECIMEN: the names, numbers and dates on them are fictional, they are not valid documents and cannot be used in any official procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about biometric passport photos, ICAO standards and printing.

How does vesikalik.com.tr work?
Choose the size for your document type, then upload a photo or take one with your browser camera. Our AI checks biometric rules (sharpness, pose, expression, lighting, background); if the photo passes, it removes the background and produces a print-ready ID photo in your selected aspect ratio. You can download the digital file or order a 10×15 print sheet for delivery — no account required.
What photo formats are supported?
You can upload JPG or PNG, or capture with your browser camera. Photos with a short side of at least 480 pixels are accepted; 720 pixels or more give sharper results. For low resolution or slight head tilt the system may try an automatic fix — just review the preview.
How should I take my photo?
Face the camera, keep a neutral expression, eyes open, and do not smile. Use even natural light and avoid harsh side shadows. A plain (preferably light) background is enough — the model cleans complex backdrops. A headscarf is fine if the whole face is visible; do not wear dark sunglasses.
Where does the AI run?
All face analysis, background removal and ID-photo generation run on our own local AI server; your photo is never sent to a third-party cloud. MediaPipe face landmarks, the BiRefNet background model and optional super-resolution enhancement all run in the same secure environment.
Are my photos stored?
Your photo is not sent to third parties; processing stays on our servers. The browser only receives a watermarked preview. The clean ID photo is kept on a private disk and can be downloaded from your account after payment. Access is limited to you and authorised admins; anonymous technical metrics (duration, model) are logged. See the Privacy Policy for details; you may request deletion under applicable data-protection law.
Is retouching or Photoshop allowed on a biometric photo?
For a biometric ID photo only technical improvements are applied: background cleanup, cropping, light and shadow balancing and, when needed, super-resolution or rotation. Retouches that change facial features (slimming the nose, shortening the chin, removing natural moles or scars, skin filters) are never applied — they can get the photo rejected. Our pipeline is designed for biometric compliance, not beautification.
Can I use it for free?
Yes. Biometric compliance analysis and the watermarked preview are free (fair use and a per-minute request limit apply). Downloading the clean digital file and ordering a 10×15 print sheet are paid; prices in the order wizard include VAT. No account is required — you can complete the order as a guest.
Should I remove glasses for the photo?
For Turkish ID cards, passports and most visa applications glasses should be removed; lens glare, tinted lenses or thick frames can cause rejection. Our analysis flags glare, dark lenses and thick frames as warnings. Prescription glasses without glare may be allowed for driving licences in some cases, but shooting without glasses is safest.
